Health First Provider of the Week – Angela Peterson, PA-C!
October 31, 2019
This week’s Provider of the Week is one of our wonderful PA’s, Angela Peterson!
Angela grew up hearing stories about her grandmother’s service to a rural Virginia community as a midwife. These stories are what drove her to pursue a career in medicine. After receiving a degree from the University of South Carolina, Angela attended MUSC Physician Assistant program.
Outside her career, Angela enjoys traveling with her husband, David, as they both love hiking national parks, fishing and enjoying local cuisine. Because they visited it after marrying in 2013, one of their still-favorite places to visit is the Redwood Forest of northern California. Angela also has a step-daughter, Cayce, and a grandson, Knox.
Medical missions have become a very big part of Angela’s life, too. For the last 15 years she has been organizing and going to Central and South Americas through her church and nonprofit group Trailblazers Medical Missions. The group serves indigenous Indian tribes in the San Blas region of Panama.
We are so lucky to have a wonderful provider like Angela!
