Elizabeth Freer, PA-C
January 21, 2020
Elizabeth Freer grew up in Pennsylvania in a small town called Hanover and goes by Liz. She had an interest in medicine beginning in high school when she went on multiple medical mission trips to Honduras. She has always enjoyed helping others and guiding them in pursuit of their own health. Even though she had an interest in medicine, it wasn’t the path she followed right away.
Liz went to undergrad at the University of Virginia where she had a dual major in Art History and Art, with a photography concentration. She moved to Charleston to do photography for a local magazine. Later, she attended the Culinary Institute of Charleston for Pastry and Culinary Arts. She worked in kitchens and had a catering business for about 4 years, and it was during that time that she began taking the classes she needed to pursue medicine, by going to Physician Assistant school.
Liz completed a Master’s in Physician Assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina. Before joining our team at Health First, she worked in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Outside of her career in medicine, Liz loves being active and the outdoors. In her free time, she surfs, wake surfs, does yoga, cooks, spends time at the beach with her dog Kaia, or with friends. She is always up for new adventures and new places and considers travel another one of her passions.
