5 Tips for COVID-19 and Flu Safety During Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving season is unlike any other that any of us alive today have experienced. COVID-19 has been around since last flu season, and as we are amid a new flu season, making choices to spend time with those we are thankful for, or staying safe at home, is challenging to say the least. The CDC has many resources available about what the safest options are, and here we have summed up a few of the CDC’s ideas on how to keep ourselves as reasonably safe as we can be from COVID-19.
- Stay home, and only interact in person with those that are part of your household. Use technology to connect with loved ones from outside the home.
- Consider activities that include only staying with members of your household, like camping, or hiking.
- If you choose to take the risk of traveling, consider taking precautions for as few stops as possible. Bathroom breaks, stopping for meals, and fueling up, are all possible points of exposure.
- If around people from outside your household, maintain two arms lengths distance, wear your mask, and wash your hands frequently.
- Enjoy fresh air as often as possible to reduce the concentration of COVID-19 and flu harboring droplets that might be air borne in shared spaces.
